Hey, I'm Daniel Shar, the guy from this website, and the gif above. Yes, I'm putting ketchup in my coffee.
My live solo show Near Sex For Work recently earned standing ovations from packed crowds at The Lyric Hyperion in LA, and will return by popular demand on January 9th and 16th at 7:30 p.m. so click those dates to get your tickets now and see why this show has been nominated for Best Mainstream Venture at the 2025 AVN Awards!
Prior to all that, I wrote and directed SCRAPS, a dark comedy feature film now available on Amazon Prime Video.
I also co-created and co-starred in a pilot presentation for the narrative/sketch comedy hybrid Jonathanville TV, as well as the web series projects Pickle Pranks, We Have To Move & Weird Copcept Album.
I've sold jokes to The Onion & Funny Or Die, helped out with a bit on Conan, and wrote & performed solo shows at Comedy Central Stage, SF Sketchfest, St. Louis Fringe Festival, and more.
My other past points of pride include writing and performing topical pieces at The Paper Machete, writing and directing a one-act play called Improvised Whose Line Is It Anyway?, directing Dave Maher Coma Show (This American Life), and working at a sex shop while still a virgin.
As a TV/film comedy writer, I love blending darkness and absurdity while exploring sexuality, loneliness, and grief. As a person staying busy between scripts, I've loved working as a writers’ assistant, creative consultant, audio porn creator, OnlyFans account manager, and non-nude non-sexual adult film side character actor.
